Recycle ideas…

December 30, 2011 in Letters to Soldiers, Projects for Kids

Here’s some recycling  ideas for your holiday cards and stamps-

*  Cut up all those holiday cards to make gift tags for next year’s presents,
or ship them off to St. Jude’s Ranch for their children’s card recycling program.

*  In the UK there’s the Woodland Trust Christmas Card Recycling Scheme.
The Woodland Trust offers great programs for kids.  Check out ” The Nature Detectives.”

*   And- your postage stamps are always appreciated by stamp collecting veterans… Stamps for the Wounded, P.O. Box 297, Dunn Loring, VA 22027

  1. Here are some more ideas:

Trace around cookie cutters on Christmas card then cut, glue the shapes back to back, apply elmer’s glue and glitter around the edge for lovely Christmas ornaments.

    Cut your favorites into bookmarks.

Cut the motifs from Christmas cards and make your own cards for next Christmas.

We always go through the cards during the month of January, selecting a few each evening to pray for our friends and loved ones.

  2. You can also cut the fronts off the cards and use them for Christmas postcards next season.
