I have to deviate for a good reason- Mother Teresa.
Today the local Knights of Columbus in New Haven, CT, USA- had a big celebration in conjunction with the US Postal Service to launch the sale of the “Mother Teresa stamp”. I went to buy some stamps and to check out the scene. Inside the K of C Museum, I found stamped envelopes (as above), postcards, books on Mother Teresa for sale, and a current exhibition displaying the far reaching effects of her life and work.
Although I am not a Catholic, I am a BIG fan of Mother Teresa’s. Her religion was kindness. She was an international humanitarian, with non-denominational, non-political compassion towards the poor and suffering. I feel she elevates what it means to be human. With so much cruelty and indifference in our world, it is marvelous to commemorate her life with a stamp.
