February 14, 2011 Happy Valentine’s Day
While delivering the mail, I couldn’t help but notice the beautifully handwritten postcards and letters that I put into a particular mailbox. After some months, I decided I would send along one of my calling cards in the mail. And, voila! – I met “c.j.,” an enthusiastic letter writer and a self-proclaimed “journal junkie.” She is a writer and a paper artist.
c.j. wrote this comment: “I always make my valentines. I save snippets and scraps of papers, stamps, lace, ribbons, ephemera during the year, along with quotes and poems I run across that make me go, “Awww!” This year I invited a few friends over and we covered the dining room table with our creative efforts. Cute thing is that two of them sent ME the card I ooo-ed and ahhed over when they made them. This may need to become an annual event!” Then she added-
“I want to wish all the members on this delicious site a Happy Valentine’s Day!!! If I knew your snail-mail addresses, I would have mailed you one of those Valentines we made! May your day be filled with hugs!”
Prompted by her desire to send us all a Valentine, I am sharing the lovely one c.j. sent to me.
