“I still think that to receive a postcard in your mailbox is happiness.” Margaretta Magnusson
Postcards are synonymous with Summer and fun. Friends and family leave for vacation. You wave goodbye and hear yourself say, “Send me a postcard.” Hopefully, they will.
One way to be sure to get one is by signing up with Postcrossing. It’s a very cool project that allows you to send and receive postcards from random people around the world. It actually tracks the cards circulating the globe!
®
- To get started- go to the site, sign up and request an address and an ID# to write to. Then pick out a postcard and write a friendly message to the address given. Don’t forget the stamp. Domestic postcard postage is .35 cents. International postage is $1.15. You can purchase the Global Forever stamp online or at your nearest post office.
- Mail it.
- Soon you will find a postcard in your mailbox from someone far away.
- Register the postcard on Postcrossing using its ID#, then request another address and ID#, and begin the process again. You don’t need to wait to send more postcards. The more you send, the more you will receive.
Increase your happiness, send several at the same time.
Happy Summer!
