“We turn not older with years, but new every day.” Emily Dickinson
A New Year , thank heavens! Already, I’ve noticed changes. For one, I’ve asserted myself at the Post Office to reclaim a more balanced work life. The uncertainty of daily forced overtime was exhausting and numbing. My Doctor and the Union helped pull me out of a very unhealthy situation, for that I am grateful, exuberant and optimistic.
Two weeks late, I can now say with arms fully extended- “Happy New Year to You!” Finally, I can get back to what I enjoy- sort through my papers, begin to write back to my penfriends, and deal with the projects that were waylaid months ago.
As far as resolutions go, the word: BALANCE comes to the foreground. I haven’t written down any formal intentions for approaching this new cycle. I’m relaxing into the year with an Emily Dickinson approach searching for the newness in myself every day. Reconnecting with my spark everyday even in a small way -is my main resolution. Being patient. Being kind. And laughing more!
Wishing that you find the new (in your life) every day in 2013!
