Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929. A rousing orator, pastor, and the chief spokesman for non-violent civil disobedience in the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950’s and 60’s. He was an outstanding leader for racial equality. He embraced the poor, both black and white. He was a peace activist and a leader who’s vision transcended his time. Only 39 years old when he was assassinated, MLK’s leadership stands as a role model for humanity’s “higher angels.”
I want to honor MLK today, on his birthday, and not get his life’s celebration overshadowed by current events. However we can, let’s remember to focus on the love, “the greatest force in the Universe.”

Hello dear Reader, Wow, it’s already Day #4 in our challenge….Do you find writing a letter to be a grounding experience? The voice in my head talking through the words on the paper sometimes feels like a meditation. Does it feel that way to you? It is a solitary event.
Today, I wrote a get well card. I hope my words will lift her spirits. Next up, are my birthday cards! Keep writing, we are midway in our week together….Focus on the love, Carol
