I deliver mail to Worthington Hooker Middle School in New Haven.
One day last Spring, I was delighted to find a display in the main lobby of different artifacts in their own dioramas. The assignment had the flavor of a Ripley’s Believe-it-or-not. The students were to chose an object, design a display, and then create an ad pitch to make the viewing of this item irresistible!
So, in honor of John Hancock’s birthday, I want to share this student’s marvelous project: “John Hancock’s Original Quill.”

Permission to photograph the display was granted through the school office. Thank you Ken Ellis for your most imaginative solution. I am especially thrilled that Ken can write cursive. I’m sure John Hancock would be,too.
